PM001 RC Tank Improved

This project was the culmination of our efforts to integrate the Popular Mechanics RC Tank with our own custom electronics. As we attempted to do so, we encountered a problem where the tank treads would deform the plastic platform, causing it to bend inward. We wondered if we could salvage some parts from the $10 kit and print new ones wherever necessary. You will want to purchase the kit for the tank treads at minimum. You may also choose to use the canopy, turret, and barrel. The Popular Mechanics RC Tank kit (PM001) can be found on Amazon here https://www.amazon.com/Popular-Mechanics-RC-Tank/dp/B00ATSLYY4 . To complete this project, you will need the following hardware: I used cap-head hex bolts. Accessory front & back: 6 qty 3mm x 10mm bolts & nuts Wheels: 4 qty 3mm x 25mm bolts & nuts Motor cover: 2 qty 4mm x 40mm bolts & nuts + 8-10 washers to prevent the bolt threads from hitting the floor The design files for this project are included. I used Alibre Design v2017. Brooke Hedrick brooke.t.hedrick@gmail.com Member of the Clive, Iowa Parent Child Club https://sites.google.com/site/cliveparentchild/
