This is a rain gauge that detects water drop movement using a small neodymium magnet and a hall effect sensor. The pulses can then be collected with an Arduino microcontroller. The rain gauge is made of ABS plastic, and it's recommended to apply acetone after printing to achieve a smooth surface. You'll need two small ball bearings (3 x 8 x 4mm) like the ones found on eBay at https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-pcs-693ZZ-L-830ZZ-Miniature-ball-bearings-3-8-4mm-small-bearings/172307220083. The hall effect sensor is a KY-003, which can be purchased on eBay at https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hall-Effect-KY-003-Magnetic-Sensor-Module-DC-5V-For-Arduino-PIC-AVR-Smart-Car/262770357408. To mount the pieces, 3mm brass inserts are used in the designed holes.
