In 3ds Max 2010 with V-Ray 2.40.03, export files in fbx format without fur. Create a Plush Mongolian Sheepskin rug (150x200 cm) using geometry for fur. Rendering options include deleting the geometry and including the modifier. Before rendering, go to Rendering - Effects and select Hair and Fur's mr prim mode. Use system units in mm. For a more realistic result, render in Effects mode after translating the model into a proxy.
