The Plumbata is a compact throwing spear with a length ranging from 50 to 70 centimeters, commonly used in ancient warfare. The plumbata features a wooden shaft supporting a barbed iron spike, designed for maximum impact. To enhance its destructive potential, a substantial lead weight is strategically attached at the center of the shaft. In addition, the rear end of the plumbata often includes stabilizing wings crafted from wood or leather to ensure accurate flight trajectories. A 3D model showcases the spear's forward section in vivid detail, highlighting its sleek design. Iron and lead components are prominently featured, measuring approximately 15.4 centimeters in length. This historical artifact is proudly owned by the Landessammlungen Niederösterreich museum in Austria.
