A spinning fishing lure designed for trolling or casting, weighing it down with added weight is the key. Cast it with a bullet weight, egg or split shot in front of the line. It will float at the surface, mid-depth or deep depending on how much weight you add to it. Attach leader line through the 4mm hole and a swivel in front to keep the line from twisting around. I printed my first one at 20% strength. Printing at 100% would make it stronger but take longer. My FLSUN Q-5 delta prints it at 20% in 45 minutes, while CURA estimates 2.5 hours for a 100% print job. Filament changes can add to the print time depending on how long they take. I tested it under a faucet and it spins well. However, I have not yet tested it in the field or stream. Applying clear coat nail polish would probably make it stronger and allow any color pattern you choose. I used glow-in-the-dark filament that turns grey or beige depending on the temperature. GOOD LUCK with your fishing adventures! If you catch a trophy fish, please post about it. You might also consider using flex filament for bite-sensitive fish. The PLUG2 .stl file measures 124mm long by 40mm in diameter and is suitable for catching Muskies or big Northern pike. Adding a bigger Bucktail treble hook and heavier leader line might be a good idea too.
