Plug & Play USB-Light Update for Mini-Lamp

The "Snap Together Mini Lamp" is a great work of art and engineering, but it lacks a proper light to turn the model into a useful household-item ;-) If you don't want to solder LEDs, cable, switches and stuff, you can use a ready-to-use USB-powered nightlight to make this cousin of Luxo Jr shine: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01M9CVNUO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=2000reisen-21&linkId=5e5f9b0469402d5a6cbf235a3b1a8b30 I modified the Lampshade for a small bridge to hold the lamp and a thread to screw off the head of the lampshade (use support at least for this part!). With this modification you can put the switch through hole and the cable in the slot above the hinge and then screw the cap on. I found out, that the double-sided adhesive tape that comes with the lamp, doesn't stick very well. I use TESA-Powerstrips instead: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00LPFVL70?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=2000reisen-21&linkId=a0b4fbeeadff3031847ae3e433c16c1e I also modified the parts in the back of the arm with clips for cable-management. To make the model look even more like a real desktop-lamp, I put on a few springs, which I bought as a set from Amazon: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07R9QN716?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=2000reisen-21&linkId=82e49f1f09be95b6e951719bd948caf9&language=de_DE&ref_=as_li_ss_tl The springs are just for show, they don't really hold anything... ;-) With the lamp switched on it looks very realistic - and is useful, too! I look forward to YOUR makes and feedback! Happy printing! Thomas 1000
