There's also another taper above what would be surface height for extra hold The taper allows it to be hammered solidly into place. The mushroom top is somewhat flexible so it compresses and provides a reasonable seal It seems to work well for plug several holes which are slightly different in size, easier then printing and resizing plug Used to plug a holes in a fiberglass topper (maybe drilled by hand with 1/4'') Printed with PLA, and is holding up so far, a more weatherproof filament type would probably be better
