This project serves as a vibrant illustration of the narrative structure, providing students with a tangible grasp of how plot unfolds. Many students struggle to comprehend the sequence of events in a story, and this interactive model aims to bridge that understanding. Key components include: - The rollercoaster car symbolizing the central element - The start/finish point representing both the beginning and conclusion - A miniature car designed to simulate the movement within a novel To further elucidate the plot's progression on the rollercoaster, teachers can affix notes or paper markers at crucial points. I crafted this project using the following steps: Step 1: Initially, we identified the challenge of creating an object solely utilizing a 3-D printer that could aid educators in teaching a specific subject. Step 2: We brainstormed multiple concepts and considered both a rollercoaster as a tool to explain plot and geometric shapes. However, due to their simplicity and limited educational value, the shape idea was eventually discarded. Step 3: Research on our ideas led us to conclude that the rollercoaster would be relatively straightforward yet provide sufficient educational benefits. Step 4: Considering the project's constraints - it must be three-dimensionally printed, educational, and usable by teachers for instructional purposes - we narrowed down our focus to a single concept. Step 5: Upon reviewing our ideas again, we eliminated the shapes idea due to its lack of utility. This step allowed us to concentrate on more viable concepts. Step 6: We ultimately selected the rollercoaster that taught plot because of the complexity of this subject in teaching and the difficulty students face when learning it. Step 7: Next, we developed a design proposal for the rollercoaster. Step 8: Using inventor, we designed and created the rollercoaster and car.
