Ploopy trackball ball bearing adapter
thingiverse
This is an adapter to use 1.984mm silicon nitride (or other ceramic) bearings in the Ploopy trackball. There's a 1mm hole behind the bearing to push it out for replacing it or adjusting how deep it sits. ## Post-processing * Cut off the brim (if used) * Generally give the edges and curved surfaces a quick filing with a needle file to remove any bits sticking out too much * Drill out the 1mm hole for extracting the bearing * Drill out the 2mm hole for the bearing to clean it up. Be careful not to go too deep - you can always drill out more after trying it * Try fitting the adapters into the slots in the Ploopy top part * If they don't fit well, take the adapters out and file any non-fitting bits. For me the one closest to the front needed quite a bit filed off. I don't think the front bearing slot is quite the same shape. * Once you have all the adapters fitting, you can push the bearings into the holes. Make sure there are no extra bits of plastic underneath them. * Test fit in the trackball and try putting the ball in place. * Make any adjustments necessary - filing bits off or drilling the hole slightly deeper. This isn't a finished thing but it kinda works!
