Pliers

Cactus Pliers. If you like these I'd love to see some makes! These pliers can be made lighter than metal ones (19 grams), yet remain strong enough for removing thorns. So far, I've only made them with PLA, but I'm planning to try them with PC Max. On a recent mountain bike ride, I hit a cactus and got a bunch of thorns in my leg. I never realized how hard they were to pull out, and I couldn't get them out with my hands. A friend loaned me pliers and allowed me to pull them out. I designed these to be good for that task and as light as possible to carry on a bike. They may be good for other jobs, but being plastic I'm sure they won't hold up like metal, so use good judgment. You need a printer that works well enough to print threads. The bolt is an 8MMx1.25, and a metal one can be substituted (though not recommended). The tolerances were perfect for my printer, and if there are many users who have problems with the fit, I will add a "looser" version.
