Plexiglass protection for pharmacies
thingiverse
Pharmacies are facing significant challenges in keeping their staff safe during the COVID-19 crisis. Installing plexiglass shields between patients and staff can provide an extra layer of protection, preventing patients from directly sneezing or coughing on medical professionals. DISCLAIMER: I do not claim to make any health protection claims here. I have simply observed that screens are being placed in many locations. This design is intended for educational purposes only and has not been approved by any health organization. Use at your own risk, as I will not be held liable for any use of this in real life. The main photo shows what such a screen could look like in a pharmacy, but it is not my original design. The second photo displays a prototype of the design with 3D printed connectors. The actual screen requires transparent plexiglass. There are numerous initiatives underway to quickly install these screens. The designs provided can be 3D printed by anyone (or accessed through online platforms like 3dhubs.com for individuals in their local neighborhood with a 3D printer if they do not have access to one themselves). The files uploaded here are for printing the connectors. To assemble the screen, you will need to purchase a transparent plexiglass plate of 2mm thickness and have it cut according to your specific measurements. I recommend the following: - Main front plate: 100cm wide by 70cm high (leaving a 30cm gap) - Two side plates: 30cm wide by 100cm high - One top plate: 100cm wide by 30cm deep - One bottom plate: 100cm wide by 40cm deep For the 3D printed parts, you can print the two sets (one with and one without support) or do this per part: - Corner: 1x normal, 1x mirrored (print with support) - L_edge_halfopen: 1x normal, 1x mirrored - L_edge: 3x normal, 3x mirrored - L_edge_open: 8x normal Printing at a resolution of 0.3mm is sufficient. Infill at least 20%. Corners require support, while all other parts do not need support but may benefit from added brim. Please share and feel free to improve upon this design. Good luck!
