Plexiglas Front Door
thingiverse
Here is a set of clips to install a Plexiglas/Acrylic front door on your PowerSpec 3D X Dual Extruder Printer, FlashForge Creator X, or similar 3D printer with a 13.750" wide by 8.375" front hole opening. The plywood front is officially labeled as 1/4", but actually measures 5.2mm (13/64"), so the clips were specifically designed to fit snugly in place. When printing with ABS or Nylon, you need to manage drafts and regulate the temperature of your build environment to get great results. Installing the front door is one key part of achieving that goal. It also makes keeping your printer clean a lot easier when it's not in use. The clips are securely attached to hold themselves on the printer, but can be easily removed if you need to. You'll want to craft a door out of 1/8" thick Plexiglas (clear acrylic) available at your local hardware store for around two dollars. The ideal glass size is 9.5" x 15". It smoothly glides in and out from the top with ease. By installing this front door, you'll significantly reduce noise emanating from the printer too. Please share your results and let me know if these clips also fit other 3D printers that you've found!
