Plexiglas bender
grabcad
This is a model for a heat-based plexiglas bender made from some MDF, a standard heating element, some aluminum angle, and some other odds and ends. First off, credit where it is due: This is NOT my idea, just my version of it. Original idea from this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mVmzWQ7Iy8. Main change is making the bend radius larger (using custom hinges) and having it work with a 120V heater. The model is not 100% complete, it's missing some wiring, wood screws, and other small bits, but it is easy to figure things out from here. I'll add the remaining elements/parts as I'm able.I got some stuff from McMaster-Carr; part numbers are in the filename. Some parts (hinges, enclosure) are 3D printed. The aluminum angle parts are merged into a single part, as I was originally thinking about using U-channel, but the store was out.
