High-speed and low-torque motors can't operate in high torque areas effectively. It's more common to see them used where higher torque is necessary, such as ship applications compared to a standard carrier system which consists of two gears - one small called the sun gear that rotates slowly and one large called the planet gear that turns around it fast enough for the planet to be almost always rolling against one point on the pitch circle of the larger gear.
