Playseat Challenge Pedal Bracket Screw
thingiverse
I over-tightened one of the plastic adjustment screws that holds the pedal bracket in place, which is a real challenge due to its soft and flexible design. It's hard to determine when it's too tight because the threads can easily bend instead of providing any resistance. The screws have an unusual thread pitch, making regular bolts unfit for the job. I created a digital model of the screw using Fusion 360. The new thread is slightly thinner than the original but still provides a snug fit. Eventually, my replacement bolt also failed due to its undersized threads and PLA's limited durability. Using ABS or PETG might have yielded better results, but I found an even more effective solution by utilizing two adjustable bicycle seat post clamps. If adjustability isn't essential, regular clamps with a single bolt will suffice. Since the Playseat uses standard tubing sizes similar to those on most bicycles, these clamps fit perfectly. However, ensure you purchase the 27mm size (approximately 1 inch), not the 31.8mm variant.
