I was on the hunt for a replacement coupling rod for my beloved Playmobil steam train, but the original part was nowhere to be found. Scouring online marketplaces led me to some intriguing remakes available on eBay at a price. However, I'm not too fond of sellers who churn out printed parts without sharing the actual model designs. In a departure from making an exact replica, I opted for a creative solution instead. My goal was to craft a substitute that would serve the same purpose as the original part without mimicking it identically. The result is now available for your viewing pleasure. If you're not entirely sold on my design, the SCAD file accompanying this project allows you to make any necessary adjustments to suit your taste. Please keep in mind that I'm still learning the ins and outs of openSCAD, so bear with me if the code looks a bit rough around the edges. Despite any potential flaws, I hope you appreciate the model regardless.
