Playmobil LightHouse / Beacon / Watchtower
cults3d
This is my new design for the playmobil funs! A ~27cm tall lighthouse/soldier's beacon, stone made looking. The design consists of several parts that fit together and complete the tower. I decided to print this design with PETG , just because I want it to be durable over time. The only difficulty was the painting, but I will talk about this later. You can use this design as a game, or as decorative object. At the top of the LightHouse (under the dome) there is space to put the 3d-printable flame of this set, or you can buy a battery operated flameless candle. I bought mine from bangood. ( https://www.banggood.com/12PCS-Battery-Operated-Flameless-Timer-Votive-Candle-Night-Light-Electric-Flickering-LED-Tea-Lamp-Christmas-Decorations-Clearance-Christmas-Lights-p-1634771.html?cur_warehouse=CN&ID=3837&rmmds=search ) If you have any questions please contact me. So ...be patient and happy printing! :) PRINTED PARTS AND QUANTITIES playmobil_lighthouse_Tower_part1 x 1 playmobil_lighthouse_Tower_part2 x 1 playmobil_lighthouse_Tower_part3 x 1 playmobil_lighthouse_balcony_rail x 9 playmobil_lighthouse_balcony_chain x 8 playmobil_lighthouse_step x 4 playmobil_lighthouse_top_ring x 1 playmobil_lighthouse_top_support_brace x 6 playmobil_lighthouse_top_dome x 1 playmobil_lighthouse_flame1 x 1 (optional) playmobil_lighthouse_flag_stick x 1 (optional) playmobil_lighthouse_flag1 x 1 (optional) POST PRINT 1) remove any supports 2) check if the parts fit together and sand where required (this step depends on your printer accuracy, layer height, and speed) 3) paint any parts you want, with acrylic colors 4) assemble the dome with it's ring and the supports braces (the braces are NOT rectangular parallelepipeds. They are curved, so be careful when assembling the dome. 5) assemble the tower and put them all together. PAINTING If you decide to print with PLA or ABS things are quite easy. But if you choose to print with PETG (like me) then you have some more work to do. First of all, sand and clean/wash all the parts that you want to paint. Then use a primer/filler acrylic spray for better adhesion of the paint. Wait one or two hours for the spray to dry. Then apply the acrylic paint with a small brush. To protect the acrylic paint from being removed by scratching, apply a clear varnish spray (gloss or matte).
