Playmobil fully printable and functional

I spent a lot of time testing various models available online, but none of them produced a fully functional and printable Playmobil. I decided to create my own, which is now available for you to try out. To make it strong and reliable, I had to break down some parts into separate sub-components that could be printed separately. The skeleton has its own distinct part that easily plugs into the main body, while the head is also divided into two parts. To print the neck successfully, I had to split it in half because printing it horizontally results in a much stronger and more stable piece. Printing the neck as one large component often yields parts with tiny, incomplete layers due to insufficient cooling time between layers. However, when you separate the neck into multiple parts, the final result is significantly cleaner. To make the model even more customizable, I decided to break down the shoes from the legs so that they can be printed in different colors. This approach allows for a wide range of color combinations and designs. When it comes to printing the hair, using two separate parts helps avoid the need for supports altogether. You can find models with supports online, but the results are not as impressive compared to printing the hair in two separate pieces that clip together seamlessly. The hands require special attention because they demand a dense support structure when printed at 0.1 mm layer height using Simplify3D. All other parts don't need any support and can be printed at 0.2 mm without any issues. To assemble the hands properly, you'll need to remove small spikes from the wrist area. If it's too difficult to fit the hand into the arm, be prepared for it to break (I experienced this firsthand). The shoes and legs can also be a bit tricky to connect initially, but once they're in place, they remain securely attached. The model I created is complete with legs and shoes, and if you prefer, you can print them all in the same color.
