Playing Card Storage Box
thingiverse
I wanted to create a better way to store playing cards, so I designed these boxes myself and they're working perfectly. There are two standard sizes for playing cards: Bridge or narrow, measuring 2.25" x 3.5", and Poker or wide, measuring 2.5" x 3.5". Most American poker rooms use Bridge-sized cards, which is why I'm not sure how the names got mixed up. Since different players prefer different sizes, I created boxes for both. I also make deck cases that can hold one or two decks with different colored backs. These boxes fit popular all-plastic playing cards from KEM, Copaq, and DaVinci, as well as most paper cards. The boxes stack neatly with the cards flat, thanks to built-in ridges that help keep them in place. However, they only stack with the same size decks - for example, Bridge won't necessarily stack on Poker. The latch is designed to simply hold the box shut during normal handling. It won't prevent someone from shaking the box open by the bottom if the lid is pointing down. If you need added security, you can use a tight rubber band around the top and bottom of the box to keep the lid securely in place. I printed the boxes shown in the photos using PETG in semi-transparent red or blue. I really like how they look. I've also printed them in PLA for added durability. In both cases, I used a 0.4mm nozzle with a 0.2mm layer height and 100% infill to ensure strong walls despite their thinness.
