playcraft blocks HELP WANTED!

So here's the deal: I'm building a block that can be crafted and looks great, but also lets you play with it - building structures. The more effort you put into them, the more value they have - embedded gems, paint jobs, gold plating, metal, etc. These blocks should become the go-to choice for all build fanatics! To solve this, I've created blocks that can be smooth and nice, but also have pushable/retractable studs. So far, it works, but I'm missing a bit of "snappyness" to it. I want to have a snap-in lock position when activated and a nice snap-in-place when building with other blocks, so you can build really smooth structures - even horizontally. Please collaborate and help me solve this last issue! PS: The building plate is also in development; I'll finish it once this problem is tackled. PPS: Sources (Pro/E WF3) will follow, as well as the specs being open-sourced for everyone to build their own components!
