A few years ago, I watched a YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWa8sEgpOrM) that inspired me as a guitar player to design and 3D print my own instrument. Although I lack a large enough printer, my old high school has one suitable for my prototype. My first guitar body is 10"x10", ensuring room for a single coil pickup and bridge without compromising sound or string tension. The neck is a Gibson/Epiphone SG model, while the pickup will be either Kramer or Peavey. Press-fit assembly and acetone bonding provide strength. Although some adjustments are needed, the entire guitar can fit on a 6"x6"x6" printer due to my limited equipment. I'll post a video once it's wired and playable. The guitar will be assembled using press-fit techniques and acetone for added strength, with screws holding the neck plate and pickup in place.
