Platypus-Diversity-Unify for FR7 with HGLRC GPS . Remix of the original platypus, completely rebuilt from scratch using the same dimensions as a reference point. A brand new model has been created entirely. Key additions include: (1) An opening at the rear of the diversity shelf now allows the antenna feed/connector to be attached directly at the back of the platypus. This eliminates the need for routing leads out of VTX openings and around the front, providing improved airflow over the diversity RX and out through the bottom of the platypus for potentially better cooling. (2) A top bung extension has been added for the rear dipole antenna, with an increased diameter for the inner (bottom) bung. A slot/opening has also been included in the bung to accommodate regular "forever tube". Simply cut 10mm off a new tube, insert the antenna up through the top bung, and fit the antenna lead through the slot. The ground plane of the dipole will protrude past the end of the bottom bung, so just stick the 10mm cut piece of forever tube into the bottom bung to protect the bottom end of the ground plane. Note that you don't need to place the bottom of the forever tube any lower/in than the length of the top/outer bung + 2mm. (3) The diversity RX tray has been widened and shortened to better accommodate the RX when it's covered with flexible heat shrink like ThermoSleeve HST14C4 1/4" heat shrink (clear). (4) The GPS tray has been sized specifically for the HGLRC M8N GPS module. (5) A step down has been added at the front of the GPS tray to better fit the connector for the HGLRC GPS module. (6) Increased cavity dimensions have been implemented below the antenna areas, allowing for more room to integrate things and potentially improving air cooling of the RX module.
