Platonic Solid Fidgets
thingiverse
One fidget is made of 11 pieces that snap together. The central portion of a sphere contains 5 chambers that hold connectors. Rounded versions of the Platonic solids, thing:30421, equipped with connectors, snap on to the connectors held in the central piece. The platonic solids rotate freely. The attachment points form a pentagram. It is a derivative of "Fidget Molecules" - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4675660. "Fidget Molecules" includes an ingenious genderless connector, "Swivel_Snap.stl", five of which are used in the fidget. An auxiliary piece, "keeper_5.stl" is required for assembly. Once the Platonic solids are snapped into place the support piece can be removed. A smaller fidget that holds 3 platonic solids is included. It requires an auxiliary piece, "keeper_3.stl". A minimal fidget, "pentagram.stl", is also included. It assembles with a single Platonic solid and one "swivel_snap.stl" or with two "swivel_snap.stl"s. 04/07/2021: Added a 4 fold fidget and keeper, "four_container.stl" and "keeper_4.stl". The added image shows a four fold fidget lying on a 4 fold fidget scaled up by a factor of 3.
