Platonic Forest Lamp Shade

Inspired by the platonic solid, the dodecahedron, the shadows create the feeling of sunlight streaming through the trees on a summer evening. Usually we create items that don't require support material, However for this design we couldn’t achieve the effect we wanted without it. Therefore we designed our own to save material and increase its ease of removal [see photos]. This product has been designed for an E27 lampholder [40mm Diameter] if you can't find one of those let us know and we can supply you with an adapter plate/alter the design. We have tested this product for over a year with a 15W light bulb and there has been no deformation of the PLA. If you use PLA we wouldn't recommend going much higher than this. Printed with Silver PLA [Real Filament] To print this design we used an Ultimaker 2+ 3D printer with a 0.6 mm nozzle [You can also use a 0.4mm or 0.8mm]. We would love to see your prints! Follow us!
