Belonging to the sauropodomorph group, it was a herbivorous dinosaur characterized by its bipedal stance, long neck, and small head. With an estimated length of around 20 feet, Plateosaurus trossingensis was one of the earliest and most widespread of the large herbivorous dinosaurs.
