Plastocyanin (pdb 2CJ3)
thingiverse
The model of electron transport protein plastocyanin from cyanobacterium Anabaena variabilis has been printed, but it required supports due to its flimsy nature. It took about 6 hours to print at medium quality. Care should be taken while removing supports and maintaining the braces intact. The original PDB file (2CJ3) was manipulated in VMD and Tinkercad for printing purposes with added support structures. Expect a significant level of work during removal of supports, but the final print is very nice. Atoms are painted in standard colors; copper is magenta, alpha helices orange, and beta sheets teal. Be patient and remember to select supports in Makerware for successful printing.
