Plasticboard VR
thingiverse
A VR headset designed for use with tablets and phones measuring six inches or more in size. Customize the clips to fit your mobile device. The QR code originates from a cardboard viewer that I based this design off of, the VRMID. (It should work as tested on my tablet; however, please let me know if it doesn't.) Print Settings: Main body print settings: Raft Support - Check the support bridges box Four walls 35% infill (Must be printed in PLA. ABS will warp during printing and crack in use.) Upper, Lower, and Middle lens layer print settings (lay them down first!): No raft No supports Four walls 100% infill (PLA is preferred, but if done in ABS, use the helper disks on each corner to keep them down) Upper nexus and Lower nexus Clip (for 2013 Nexus 7 with gummy protector) print settings: Raft No support Four walls 25% infill The blank clip allows you to make it fit your devices. Post-Printing: Step 1: Remove rafts from all parts, then carefully remove supports from the Main body. Step 2: Sand edges of raft side of clips. Step 3: Insert lenses (25 mm diameter, 41 mm focal length) into the middle lens layer and place the three lens layers in order - Lower first, Middle second, and Top last. (PS: The middle lens layer may require sanding to accommodate the lens) Step 4: Add tape to lower edges of the Main body to protect your screen from scratches. Step 5: Apply desired clip configuration, and you're done!
