Designing a plastic tray using SolidWorks requires precision and creativity. First, create a new part in SolidWorks by navigating to File > New Part. Next, select the "Design" tab and choose the "Sheet Metal" tool from the toolbar. This will allow you to design a 2D sheet metal part that can be folded into a 3D tray. Draw the tray's base shape using the "Sketch" tool by creating a rectangle with rounded corners. Add an extruded cutout for the handle by selecting the "Extrude" feature and choosing the "Cut" option. Create a 2D drawing of the tray's side profile by sketching a line that represents the edge of the tray. Use the "Mid Plane" tool to split the tray into two equal halves, creating a mirror image of the original design. Add some flair to your tray design with a decorative edge or handle. Use the "Fillet" feature to add a rounded edge to the tray's corners and create a seamless transition between the base and side profiles. To manufacture your plastic tray, export it as an STL file from SolidWorks and send it to a 3D printer or CNC machine for production.
