I really enjoy experimenting with 3D printing and use it to create all sorts of amazing things. But there's one thing we have to acknowledge: whatever I print will not last forever, and eventually someone (or me) will need to dispose of it in a responsible manner. By recycling plastics, I can save energy and help keep the earth clean, preventing our contribution to the plastic soup and microplastics that contaminate nature. As more materials become available for 3D printing, would anyone still be able to identify which ones were used years later? Most people print with PLA, but even PLA won't break down in natural conditions like it should. The good news is that individuals have created unique symbols worldwide to identify plastics. So here's my take on the recycling symbols, free for use in your projects - available in STL and FreeCad formats. For now, I've included 7 of the most commonly used materials. More are on the way. If you miss a material, just leave a comment. Please like this thing to draw attention to its importance.
