Plastic Cup Plant Holder
thingiverse
I'm blown away by the sleek, sophisticated design of Tanya Akinora's Flower Pot (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2853889). I love that you can print the model in various colors without altering its construction. Turning a basic plastic cup into a stylish planter is nothing new, but making it so visually appealing makes this model perfect for any room in your home without detracting from the decor. That being said, I couldn't resist tinkering with it. My version is built from scratch using OpenSCAD, and I've eliminated the need for vertical supports by adding feet to each layer and recesses for the feet on top of each layer except the final piece. The model uploaded is designed around a 16 oz. Solo Cup, with an opening diameter of 92 mm and a total height of just under 107 mm when stacked. You'll need to print one each of the top and bottom layers as well as five middle layers, featuring four different patterns: plain, diamonds, grid, and sunburst. Feel free to mix and match patterns on the layers if you like. While the uploaded models are useful, if you have some experience with OpenSCAD or dare to brave the Customizer, you can modify many of this model's parameters to suit your needs. Check out the instructions below for how to build and configure this model. Please share pictures if you decide to print this model. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks to TanyaAkinora for the inspiration behind this model!
