Plastic cardboard Enclosure / KODAMA TRINUS
thingiverse
Winter is coming, and with it, the temperature of the heated bed on my TRINUS 3D Printer has been increasing more slowly when using ABS to shape objects. So, I thought I'd put my TRINUS in a protective case to help keep it warm, using a product called Puradann to build an enclosure for my TRINUS 3D Printer. For more details, check out my blog post here: http://wp.me/p8Dvuj-ub **The Object to Be Printed** * Corner parts (puradannCorner.stl) x 8 * Straight parts (puradannStraight.stl) x 6 ~ 8 **Additional Materials Needed** * Puradann, 450×900×2 sheets (pay attention to the direction of the fibers) * MDF, 450×400×7mm x 2 sheets The size of the Puradann and MDF is not critical as long as it fits around the TRINUS. * M3 wood screws, 8mm x 14 ~ * Gaffer tape **Step-by-Step Instructions** 1. Print puradannCorner.stl and puradannStraight.stl. This time I printed them with transparent ABS filament, but PLA should also work fine. 2. Attach the printed corner parts and straight parts to the MDF board using wood screws. (It's easier to screw in the holes after cutting them out) 3. Place the Puradann over the bottom of the MDF board, into the groove between the corner parts and straight parts, securing it temporarily. Cut a 3mm notch where the Puradann goes into the groove. Fold the edge of the opening 4cm and place it into the diagonal groove. It's also a good idea to curve the Puradann to prevent it from warping. 4. Attach the top plate in the same way, and then use gaffer tape to hold everything together until it's secure. The door can be secured with leftover Puradann or even an acrylic sheet. **Printing Parameters** Printer: Kodama TRINUS 3DPRINTER Nozzle: 0.4mm Layer height: 0.15mm Extruder temperature: 225°C Heated bed temperature: 100°C Printing speed: 40mm/s Fill pattern: Rectilinear Infill: 40% Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Single outline corkscrew mode: No Filament: I use ABS 1.75mm
