You can now create your own plastic bottle cutter at home. We've all seen these devices in use somewhere along the line. With a 3D printer, you're free to print one for yourself. To assemble it, start by printing it flat and then insert three connected scalpel blades into the small square located about 8mm from the bottom of the device. These blades must be sharp and unbroken, so use a small, high-quality scalpel or piece of razor blade. The empty space where you'll place the knife is only 0.45mm tall, so keep this in mind when calculating your layer height for printing. Inside the cutter, there's a small arrow that indicates the direction of bottle rotation during cutting. To ensure smooth operation, turn the knife in accordance with this direction. Remember to wear protective gloves when working with sharp objects.
