Summer's arrival is a good time to think about creative ways to reuse common items, especially when faced with the sticker shock of commercial products like colorful watering cans for kids. A plastic alternative is definitely doable with just a few materials from around the house and an 3D printer. Here's my take on an affordable colorful watering can for kids: To get started, you will need to print out all parts except the handle - as seen in the image below. It's possible to substitute it with the longer version of the design if necessary, even though that might not be suitable for some smaller 3D printers. Cut a hole through the bottle cap, apply some glue to secure the hose and you are done ! It looks like this homemade option has fewer drawbacks compared to commercial options
