The Life Cap is an innovative design that sets itself apart from the Life Straw. Unlike the Life Straw, which requires users to walk to a water source and drink on site, the Life Cap allows individuals to fill a bottle with dirty water and then filter it through a series of filters (membrane filters at top and bottom, sponge or rocks in the lower half, and charcoal filter at the top) housed within a 3D-printed plastic cap. This enables users to have clean drinking water on hand at all times. Weighing just under 57 grams, the Life Cap consists of a rotatable rubber seal on the smaller end to prevent spillage when not in use. The cap is designed to fit standard Coke bottle lids (500ml, 1l, and 2l) and can be purchased with or without the accompanying bottle lid. The filter housing measures approximately 3mm thick, with an outer diameter of 28.5mm and an inner diameter of 25.5mm, standing at a height of 40mm. The outlet end of the cap has a diameter of 9mm. By utilizing recycled plastic bottles and providing clean water to the public, the Life Cap reduces both waste and pollution.
