A statue of Poet Lord Alfred Tennyson proudly stands in Poets' Corner within the revered Westminster Abbey on August 5, 2009, in London. Born in Somersby, Lincolnshire, on August 6, 1809, Lord Tennyson was appointed as the Poet Laureate, a title he earned for his remarkable literary contributions. His life came to an end on October 6, 1892, and he was laid to rest in the Abbey on October 12th, surrounded by thousands of mourners who gathered to pay their respects.
