Plasma Cutter offset gage
thingiverse
Update: I recently designed a simple tool for making precision cuts with my Hypertherm Powermax 30XP hand torch and general purpose drag tip. The first version was meant for spacing off a cut, but I soon realized that it would be more useful if the part being removed could be set to the correct length as well. To achieve this, I created a gage that allows me to use either direction - cutting from the straight edge or removing material from the straight edge. This tool enables me to draw a precise line on the plate where I want the edge to be, and then secure my straight edge to the outside of the tool to make the cut right up to the line.
