Plantronics 855 Bluetooth Case
thingiverse
I use a Plantronics 855 Bluetooth headset and it is one of my favorite Bluetooth headsets because it has an extendible microphone boom and can play stereo music with AVRCP and A2DP profiles... I also own a Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth headset, which came with a protective case. If only the 855 had come with a similar case, I would use it even more often. The main problem holding me back is how fragile the entire device is - the stereo earbud hangs by a wire and the ear clip can break easily. So I took inspiration from the Legend's protective case and designed a contoured case for my 855 too - and here it is! This is actually version 2, an improvement over the first version that had a lid that clipped on very tightly, making it hard to open with your fingers, and required careful attention so the earbud cable wouldn't get pinched. In V2 I've added a recessed compartment for the cable (as pictured) and deliberately raised the lip by a mm to create a seam between the lid and case, allowing you to open the lid with your fingernails. The STL file as is is designed for use on the right ear - simply mirror-image it before printing if you're left-handed, as the dimensions are symmetrical. Anyone who owns an 855 or uses a good Bluetooth headset can download and print this. If you find it useful, please give me a thumbs-up!
