Planters with Drainage and Integrated Tray
thingiverse
Most larger planter models I found are up-scaled versions of smaller plots that end up using much more filament than needed (very thick walls), or are "vase mode" designs that end up too thin in some areas and/or are lacking sufficient drainage required for growing succulents. My pots are designed with thinner side walls natively at these larger sizes to prevent the need of printing both inner and outer walls with infill between. However, the walls are thick enough to be water tight and strong enough to hold plants. Drainage is included 360 degrees around base with holes large enough to not become easily clogged. I suggest using a layer of gravel at the bottom to also help keep dirt from clogging holes. The base is slightly convex to encourage water flow towards the drainage holes. I would not recommend scaling these down much in size as the walls may get very thin. To get an idea of size, the medium planter inside volume is about the size of two adult fists pressed together. The larger planter takes up nearly the entire 220 X 220 print area on an Ender 3 and the medium pot will fit entirely inside the larger one. Update 10/22/2021: Added a medium size pot model with less drainage holes. Update 10/25/2021: Added large straight walled planters with a wider opening, one with less drainage. Update 11/06/2021: Added couple small pots with a separate base Update 11/13/2021: Added insert to convert a coffee cup into a planter
