This is a breakthrough for the chirp! - Soil moisture sensor. The open-source sensor was designed by wemakethings.net/chirp/. I utilized an Arduino to upload a custom firmware that deactivated the light sensor and the chirp, as I access the sensor solely via the serial interface (Raspberry Pi 1). The new firmware resolved several connection issues. The housing requires no adhesive or additional aids, securing itself tightly.
