Plant Tie

Plant Tie

I was looking for a simple yet sturdy strap that could securely tie plants to canes and stakes without constricting them. I needed something that would tighten snugly around the cane while remaining loose on the plant itself. This design serves as an ideal solution. To assemble it, pass one end of the strap around the cane, then thread the tip through the first notch at the other end and pull tight. Next, loop the strap around the stem of the plant, threading it through the second notch, and adjust the tension to your liking. I printed this tie using TPU with a total of four layers - two on the bottom and two on top (each 0.25mm thick). The concentric infill pattern from S3D adds significant strength to the design. Although 0.25mm is quite thick for TPU, I achieved good results by printing at a maximum speed of 20 mm/s. Despite its thinness - only 1mm - this tie seems incredibly durable, but time will tell how well it holds up in outdoor conditions. If you'd like to modify the design, I've included the Fusion 360 file for your reference. Let me know if there's any other type of file you require.
