Part of a colossal Carboniferous Clubmoss stem, belonging to the Sigillaria sp., was unearthed at Old Hill, within the Wyre Forest. Sigillaria represents an extinct genus of spore-bearing, arboreal plants. It was classified as a lycopodiophyte and shares a close relationship with lycopsids or club-mosses but exhibits even stronger ties to quillworts, much like its companion Lepidodendron. This specimen was imaged using an Artec spider scanner and processed via Artec studio 12 by M Partridge. ___________ This object was scanned by Fossils in Shropshire.
