Plant Drainage Lift

<p>We got this really nice wooden rounded cube plant pot we wanted to use, but it didn't have a drainage hole! To further the problem, the inside was untreated raw wood, and would likely get damaged from water and dirt. So, we drilled out a hole on the bottom, and applied several layers of polycrylic to the inside to protect the wood.</p> <p>Problem solved right? Well, not quite.</p> <p>Even with a drainage hole, the hole pot has to be slightly suspended so that the water can actually drain into a typical plant saucer. So I fired up fusion 360 to see what I could design for this, and this is the result!</p> <p>The attached .stl file is sized at 62mm x 62mm x 10mm , but the design is simple enough where you should be able to uniformly scale the x and y dimensions to size this for any size planter you may have. You could also bring the height down if you want, 10mm of clearance may not be necessary for all planters.</p> <p>I've also included a STEP file for anyone who wants to remix this, or for finer tuned edits for their specific planter. Still learning, but it's a lot of fun!</p> This one is pretty simple. Its just a hollowed out cylinder with a slight taper so it's wider at the base. Then, I used a circular pattern to cut out the half cylinders around it for the water to drain into the rest of the saucer.</div></p> </p></p></p> Category: Household
