Plant Cutting Holder
thingiverse
This is a Simple Solution. I needed a way to nurture some cuttings from my Nepenthes Ventrata (carnivorous pitcher plants) so they could root and grow into new (clone) plants. I came up with a basic design to fill that need. The .stl file contains one half of the holder. Print two of them for each cutting you want to root, then place them together inside the ring of a standard canning jar. Position the "bottom" of the cutting down into the jar, fill it with water and wait. If you're lucky, the cutting will put out roots and you'll have a new clone of your favorite plant, ready to be potted. This method will work for other types of plants as well, just so long as the stems are not more than 5mm or 0.19685 in. in diameter. Of course, feel free to modify this design if you need another size. P.S. The picture of the plant in the white hanging pot was included to satisfy any curiosity about what kind of plant I'm talking about.
