I needed a planetary gear for this project that would have both the in-feed and out-feed moving in the same direction, so I was thrilled to find those perfect files from dan241297 - they're immaculate and incredibly easy to customize. The objective here is to spin two systems from a single drive shaft, and these files work like a charm! To top it off, this setup will be powered by wind energy using vanes attached above. With 123Design and Meshmixer handling the modifications, I was able to fine-tune everything with ease. At the bottom of the system is a large diameter thrust bearing salvaged from my collection - that's where the weight is concentrated, and the ring gear hangs suspended with minimal clearance to reduce friction to a minimum. The four 5mm bolts securing it to the base adjust the ring gear height and prevent the entire system from rotating out of control. The carrier top is designed specifically for a 14mm square hole that's 5mm high, while the center hole has been carefully reamed out to accommodate an 8mm shaft spinning freely. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to add a video to this description - but feel free to ask me any questions you may have!
