Create a unique version of a calling card using a CNC router! By scaling the pattern up to 7.5" tall and changing its shape into a square, you can make it more prominent than a regular business card. Small adjustments are made to the gears for better cutting with a 1/8" endmill on MDF. No finish or fasteners besides glue are required. Assemble the sun first, followed by curved sides and then the gears, ensuring not to use excessive glue. Use 1/4" MDF for better results, but be cautious with solid wood as it may break gear teeth. Baltic birch would be an excellent choice for a finished look. The attached G-CODE file is designed for .25" thick stock, 1/8" endmill, 1/8" passes, and 60IPM. DXF and Vectric V-Carve files are also provided for different machine capabilities. Remember to place adhesive tape under the stock where gears will be cut out, and tabs are programmed for larger pieces.
