Planetary Annihilation - Grenadier
thingiverse
This model is based on the Grenadier unit from Planetary Annihilation. I like to call it the HellHound, and I wrote up a bit of fluff for it to make things more interesting. The HellHound HH54AT Anti-Tank Autonomous Area Defense Robot is the ideal piece of equipment to send with any infantry platoon that might run into armored opposition. The twin-linked auto-cannons turn even the hardest armored target into Swiss cheese with ease. Commissioned originally by the United Republic of the Americas, the design was mothballed due to budget concerns during the Great Regression and later resold to the Orbital Defense Union, who saw potential in the use of robotics. The ODU used them primarily as portable turrets in colonization and assault beachhead locations during the Grajat Conflict. The three-legged design gives it the added stability necessary to rapidly fire the large weaponry mounts that it comes standard with. Standing roughly four meters tall (to scale), he's large enough to command authority but small enough to fit most standard commercial and military transports. This little puppy packs a wallop but won't bust your suspension when you're getting him into the field. Mobility is what he's all about. His three legs are good for a stable firing platform, but they also serve to keep him moving at a steady 65 kph when heading to a new firing position. The solar system of Sirius (The Dog Star) has seen many conflicts over its incredibly rich resources. The most recent clash saw heavy use of the HH54AT with results that speak for themselves. Once the HH54AT was in position, that ground was never retaken without orbital bombardment. This is where it earned its nickname "The HellHound" from its tireless work dragging the enemy back to hell. Make sure he's on your side! Order for your local militia or ground force today! Assembly I suggest using super glue for construction. See the image of the finished model for help with assembly. ** There is now an alternate leg model that skips the following steps. It is two parts but includes the foot, shin, knee, thigh, and hip models into those two parts. ** First assemble the legs by attaching the knee to the thigh. Then attach the foot to the shin. Now combine these two new pieces together for a leg. Do this three times. Then attach the hip to the center three times. Now you can attach the three legs to each of the three hips. Attach the torso to the center. Attach the head to the torso. The sensors go on the back of the head. The sensors have a small pin hole for you to add a piece of paperclip or wire as an antenna, or you can leave it empty. Butt to shells and then add barrel. There are two of each of these, one for left and one for right. Attach guns to the head and you're done!
