Fond at the crash site was Czechoslovak Airlines Flight 001, an Ilyushin Il-18B four-engine turboprop airliner registered OK-NAB. The plane was carrying out a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Prague's Ruzyně airport to Bratislava-Ivanka Airport in Czechoslovakia when it crashed into Zlaté Piesky (Golden Sands) Lake while attempting to land at Bratislava on July 28, 1976. All six crew members and 70 out of the 73 passengers perished in the disaster.
