Plague Mask
thingiverse
This design is an homage to Plague Masks from the 17th century. The mask consists of two primary components, each easily printed on a standard 5 x 8 print bed. They are secured together using three #4 x 1/2 screws and a strong adhesive. If you have a larger printer bed, consider scaling up the files to create a more precise fit around your face. Notably, the beige mask in these images was scaled to 120% and appears slightly oversized. The left and right eye sockets are designed as separate parts, allowing for easy printing with contrasting colors. Each socket has a key feature that ensures accurate orientation, and they can be attached using glue. The lens is shared by both sides of the mask and is inserted from within each eye socket. The buckle is specifically designed to accommodate 1" nylon webbing. When worn, three layers of this webbing will pass through the buckle at the back of the head, while two layers will pass through at the top. To keep the webbing tidy, sleeves are provided for easy adjustment. For optimal comfort, consider padding the mask's edges that come into contact with your face using any available materials.
