Times being what they are, I sought out a more "historical" plague doctor symbol, more bat-like than bird-like wings. This design is based on a 1656 engraving of a plague doctor, the only contemporary image I could find. Print flat with supports and make a duplicate mirrored STL file to create a 360° symbol if desired. It's small and fits a 3/8" or 9.5mm dowel perfectly. However, I had to file the end of the dowel slightly to fit it properly. Enlarge as big as you want (or smaller if you'd like to make a nice lapel pin). The skull I used is one that has been lying around for many years, all that remains from a skeleton model that I bought my son about 40 years ago. At the time, I thought it was a bit too much, so I put it back where it came from. The background figure is Hieronymus Bosch's treeman from "The Garden of Earthly Delights," which I purchased from a firm in the Netherlands that specializes in creating 3D art figurines from famous paintings among other things. Just added a little stand for those who don't want to design one themselves.
