Plague Doctor bust

In 17th century Europe, Plague Doctors were hired to treat Black Death plague victims who desperately needed their help. The distinctive bird-like beak of the mask was packed with herbs and spices to combat the overwhelming stench of plague victims and rotting corpses, as well as to shield the doctor from infection (though this proved largely ineffective). My version of the Doctor draws inspiration from modern popular culture, skilled costumer makers, and the Steampunk aesthetic rather than a historically accurate portrayal.
